Events

At Mount Calvary, we have a number of happenings and events. Our regular events include Sunday Early Worship, Sunday Bible Classes, Sunday Late Worship, and our Walking Program.

September Events

September 4– Finance Team Meeting: The Finance Team will meet at 6:00 pm in the Library to discuss the financial needs of Mount Calvary.

September 6– Friday Youth Night: The Middle and High School Youth meet at 6:00 pm.  Join us as we dig into tough questions about faith, pray, encourage each other on our faith journeys, play games, and chill.

September 8– Bienz Baby Shower: (baby BOY due in October), 2:00-4:00pm in the Fellowship Hall

September 9– Friendship Class:  Join us at 7:00 pm as we provide spiritual care and education for developmentally and intellectually disabled adults.

September 10– MAC Meeting:  The MAC will meet to discuss action items and events at 6:30 pm.

September 11– Midweek Bible Study: “Are We There Yet?” – This lesson is about the journey of the Children of Israel for forty years through the desert, and their trust that God would lead them to the promised land.  Bible texts that encourage us to trust God will be reviewed.

September 11– Board of Trustees Meeting: The BOT will meet to discuss the strategic vision and future endeavors of Mount Calvary at 6:30 pm.

September 13– Friday Youth Night: The Middle and High School Youth meet at 6:00 pm.  Join us as we dig into tough questions about faith, pray, encourage each other on our faith journeys, play games, and chill.

September 17– Sunshine circle: 1 pm in the library. Dorothy Doenges will lead Bible Study “God’s Time” on page 16 in Summer Quarterly.

September 17– Pastoral Team meeting:  The Pastoral Care Team will meet at 6:30 pm to discuss the ministry provided to the homebound and hospitalized.

September 18– Midweek Bible Study: “C’mom You Call this a Fair Fight” – In this lesson will study how Moses and his sister Miriam.  At one time rebelled against Moses and this rebellion spread to others.  Miriam was punished. Bible texts that talk about brothers and sisters will be studied.

September 19– McSeniors: Game Day! 1pm Bring your favorite games & snack to share.

September 20– SIS: Join us for Pizza Poppers & Prayer. Cost is $5.

September 21 & 22nd– Johnny Appleseed Festival: LSUS will be selling popcorn, caramel sauce, and sliced apples with caramel on top.

September 23– Friendship Class:  Join us at 7:00 pm as we provide spiritual care and education for developmentally and intellectually disabled adults.

September 25– Midweek Bible Study: “Anything But Snakes” – At one of the times when the Children of Israel sinned, God sent snakes to bite the people. After Moses appealed to God for relief, God relented and asked Moses to put a bronze snake on a stake.  When the people looked at the snake they were saved. Our studies will consider “Why does a serpent represent what Jesus did on the cross?”
